BATTLE CREEK – The Saugatuck boys golf team finished 12th at the Division 4 state tournament.

The Trailblazers shot a 706 in the two-day tournament. Clarkston Everest Collegiate won the tournament with a 625, leading my

Russell Vande Poel (89-86) and Elijah Janowiak (85-90) each finished with 175s to finish tied for 51st overall.

Jacey Merkle finished 56th (87-89-176), followed by Owen Marzolf (90-90-180) and Cameron Lewis (94-90-184).

Hamilton golfer Eli Timmerman finished 18th at the Division 2 state tournament at The Fortress golf course in Frankenmuth.

The senior shot a 76 in Friday’s first round, then followed that with a 78 in the second round for a 154.

Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice’s Lorenzo Pinili won the tournament with a 64-70-134.

Grand Rapids Christian won the team title at 595, two shots ahead of Brother Rice.
