The Satechi Pro Hub Slim has been launched in the US. The gadget has seven ports, including a 100 W pass-through USB4 port with 40 Gbps transfer speeds. You can also use this port to connect to displays with an up to 6K @ 60 Hz resolution. Alternatively, you can use an HDMI port to connect to a screen with a resolution of up to 4K @ 60 Hz, with HDCP1.4/2.3 and HDR support.
Two USB-A ports can transfer data at up to 10 Gbps, with 900 mA maximum per port. A second USB-C port does not support pass-through charging or video output and has the same transfer speeds as the USB-A. Plus, SD and MicroSD card slots enable you to transfer at up to 104 MB/s. The device has been designed primarily for the M2 MacBook Air but is compatible with all MacBooks from 2017 onwards. The Pro Hub Slim has an aluminum casing and connects to your laptop via dual USB-C.
You can buy the Satechi Pro Hub Slim in the US for US$79.99 at the Satechi store; it is unclear when the device will be available via Amazon. The gadget is available in Space Gray, Silver and Midnight to match your Apple Macbook, should you wish. The company ships to many countries worldwide, although these purchases would be subject to local taxes and customs duties.
I’ve been interested in technology for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I have loved gadgets and understanding how things work. Since graduating, I have worked for several technology companies across FinTech, AdTech and Robotics.
