Much like the entire Galaxy S23 series, Samsung’s Galaxy Book3 Ultra wasn’t much of a secret. Everything from its spec sheet to tentative prices in France leaked in the past few weeks. Samsung has finally lifted the covers off arguably its most premium laptop yet, and as expected, it is not cheap.
Samsung Display took the stage to show off the Galaxy Book3 Ultra’s shiny new On Cell Touch AMOLED (OCTA) technology. The 16:10 16-inch panel has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 3K (2,880 x 1,800) pixels. Other specs include 120% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, 400 nits peak brightness, VESA ClearMR and Display HDR True Black 500 certification.
The Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra packs some serious firepower under the hood. Samsung’s official spec sheet only mentions a Core i9/i7 processor, but a previous leak confirmed it would be a Core i9-13900HK and Core i7-13700H. One can pair the former with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 and the latter with a GeForce RTX 4050. No other configurations appear to be available for now. Similarly, the memory/storage for the i7 and i9 SKU is 16GB/512GB and 32GB/1TB. Both components appear to be user replaceable.
Other Galaxy Book3 ultra specs include a 76 Wh battery with 100 W USB-PD charging support, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6E, a 1080p webcam, four AKG-tuned speakers, and a power button that doubles up as a fingerprint sensor. For I/O, there are two Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, two USB Type-A ports, an HDMI port and an SD card reader.
Samsung has also detailed several “ecosystem” benefits of the Galaxy Book3 Ultra, including the ability to use the laptop’s trackpad as a mouse for a compatible Galaxy tablet and smartphone. In addition, DirectRAW images captured via a smartphone can be shared directly with the laptop. Password stored in Samsung Pass will be linked to all devices with the same Samsung account.
Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra price and availability
The Galaxy Book3 Ultra with a Core i7 CPU, RTX 4050, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB storage will cost €2,799 (US$3,056) in Germany. The top-spec Core i9 plus GeForce RTX 4070 plus 32 GB RAM/1 TB storage variant drives the price up to €3,699 (US$4,038). One can pre-order the laptop immediately and expect it to ship by February 17. It is pertinent to note the prices and pre-order bonuses will differ on a region-by-region basis, so check your regional Samsung website for more information.
