Samsung 980 Pro: Save up to 53% in new PCIe 4.0 SSD deals

The Samsung 980 Pro is on sale once again, this time without a heatsink. Considered a performance powerhouse when it was launched, the PCIe 4.0-based SSD comes with a 5-year warranty, hardware-based AES 256-bit encryption and 7,000 MB/s sequential read speeds for 1 TB and 2 TB models. While Samsung offers the 980 Pro in 250 GB, 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB SKUs, Amazon has not included the smallest capacity in its latest sales.

Instead, Amazon has discounted the 500 GB SKU by 46%, taking it from US$139.99 to US$74.99. Alternatively, Amazon is offering the 1 TB version for US$119.99, a 43% and US$89.01 saving on its US$209.99 list price. Moreover, the retailer is selling the 2 TB edition at US$179.99, having taken 53% and US$200 off its US$379.99 list price.

In other words, the 500 GB edition now costs US$0.149 per GB, compared to US$0.279 when assuming its list price. By contrast, the discounted 1 TB SSD equates to US$0.119 per GB, US$0.099 cheaper per GB. Finally, the Samsung 980 2 TB started at US$0.189 per GB, but its 53% discount brings it to a more respectable US$0.0899.
