Sabers announce roster for tonight’s preseason game against Hurricanes

With only two preseason games remaining, the Buffalo Sabers will focus on getting players ready for opening night.

Buffalo will play their penultimate exhibition game tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes at KeyBank Center. Tickets are on sale now. Pregame coverage on MSG begins at 6:30 pm with faceoff set for 7 pm on MSG and WGR 550.

Following tonight’s game, the Sabers will play just one more preseason game (on Friday in Pittsburgh) before they open the regular season on October 13 against Ottawa.

With all that time between games, look for the Sabers to ice lineups that mostly resemble the one they’ll want to see opening night.

“Lots of these guys want to play both games. They feel that’s the way they’re going to get ready,” head coach Don Granato said. said Monday. “…In the last 10 or 12 days before the opener, you might have four games. [This year,] there’s only two, so you’re going to see pretty close to our lineup just because these guys want the game reps and there’s enough rest in between to still be ready for the opener.”

Here is Buffalo’s roster for tonight’s game. For a projected lineup and other notes, stay tuned for the game preview following today’s morning skate.
