The Ryzen 9 7950X is a 16-core/32-thread CPU built on AMD’s latest Zen 4 architecture. With a base and boost clock of 4.5 GHz and 5.7 GHz respectively, the chip is a beast performer no matter the workload. Amazon is now selling the Ryzen 9 7950X for US$131 off its MSRP.

Launched on September 27, the Ryzen 9 7950X is AMD’s fastest Zen 4 processor. Unfortunately, it is also the most expensive as it has an MSRP of US$699. The chip becomes even harder to get when you factor in the cost of an AM5 motherboard and DDR5 memory. Thankfully, AMD’s Zen 4 processors have been going on sale lately.

You can now buy the Ryzen 9 7950X for US$568.99 on Amazon, a 19% discount on the original US$699 MSRP. Granted, this is not the lowest price we’ve seen to date, but it is the best price for the chip at the time of writing.

So, how good is the Ryzen 9 7950X? It is quite excellent. As we found out in our review, AMD’s champ performs on par with the Core i9-13900K in multi-core workloads. The chip also gives Intel’s flagship a run for its money in single-threaded applications, an area that Team Blue has traditionally dominated.

Put simply, if you are looking for an extremely performant CPU for productivity and gaming, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X is an incredible option, especially at the current discounted rate.
