Hundreds of people in Royal Wootton Bassett are facing an ongoing issue with their mobile phone signal.
Two mobile masts that covered a large area of the town were removed to make way for a housing development off of Bincknoll Lane in December 2022, plunging a wide area into a reception black hole.
People who have complained to their phone companies have been told to expect the issue to be fixed in March at the earliest, meaning locals will have to put up with little or no signal for two months at least.

But, a planning application for a replacement mast that has been waiting for a decision from Wiltshire Council since last May has now finally been approved.
The planning portal page still lists it as under consultation but on January 23, the council has confirmed that this had been given the green light to go ahead.
This is on top of the already approved planning application for another replacement mast in the same stretch of green belt opposite the old mast’s previous site on Grove Farm, on which construction work has already begun.
An application for another telephone mast south of Bincknoll Lane near Brynard’s Hill has also been made.
