The Round Rock football team is three weeks away from starting the 2022 season. On Saturday, Dragons defensive lineman Ansel Nedore confirmed his plans for where he’ll be at the start of the 2023 season.
Nedore, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive tackle, publicly announced he’s committed to Texas Tech. According to recruiting services, he has also been offered scholarships by Texas, Baylor, Houston, SMU, TCU and UT-San Antonio.
Nedore was named the District 25-6A defensive lineman of the year last season after Round Rock went 9-2 and lost in the first round of the playoffs. He was credited with 57 tackles, including 11 tackles for loss with one sack. He also had four batted passes, two fumble recoveries and one caused fumble.
Dave Campbell’s Texas Football made him a third-team honoree on this year’s Texas high-school preseason Super Team.
Tech now has non-binding oral commitments from 25 high-school recruits for this coming year’s class, including five apiece of defensive linemen, linebackers, defensive backs and receivers. Four offensive linemen and one quarterback are also in the class.
Also on Saturday, Tech pledge Miquel Dingle, a linebacker from Duncan, South Carolina, announced on social media that he’s received a scholarship offer from North Carolina State.
Tech coach Joey McGuire told AJ Media recently that he expects to sign 23 to 25 players in this class.
