Here’s the latest on some of the Mets’ top prospects…

SS/2B Ronny Mauricio, Triple-A Syracuse

While Mauricio is a natural shortstop, the Mets have decided to move him to second base, which likely gives him a more direct path to the majors. Mauricio has started at second the last two games, and while he went hitless on Friday, he had three hits and drove in a run on Saturday against Durham.

The switch-hitting shortstop has been hitting everything, compiling a slash line of .360/.407/.720 with six homers and 15 RBI.

INF/OF Mark Vientos, Triple-A Syracuse

Stay hot, Mark VIentos. In the last week alone, Vientos has recorded 12 hits, including five multi-hit games in seven total contests.

Vientos has a ridiculous 1.163 OPS this season, blasting six homers with 17 RBI.

C Kevin Parada, High-A Brooklyn

Parada’s start to the season, his first year with the Cyclones, continues to be a bit rocky. The former first-round pick is slashing .208/.361./.333, and while he’s struck out 12 times, he’s displayed a good eye at the plate, walking 11 times.

In five games this week, Parada recorded three total hits.

OF Alex Ramirez, High-A Brooklyn

Ramirez, the No. 4 prospect in the Mets’ system (per MLB Pipeline), is the current owner of a nine-game hitting streak, dating back to April 12. After hitting just .158 in his first four games, Ramirez has seen his average jump up to .281 to go along with one home run and 11 RBI.

SS Jett Williams, Low-A St. Lucie

Williams, the Mets’ No. 5 prospect, was hitting just .207 coming into the week, but his batting average has gone up 20 points to .227 thanks to his current four-game hitting streak. He’s also got an impressive .452 on-base percentage.
