Roger Clemens joining ESPN booth as special guest analyst for MLB opening night telecast

Seven-time Cy Young award-winning pitcher Roger Clemens will join ESPN as a special game analyst for the network’s opening night MLB telecast.

Clemens will be in the booth when the Houston Astros open defense of their World Series championship at home and face the Chicago White Sox on March 30. The first pitch is set for 7 pm ET. Clemens pitched for the Astros for three seasons from 2004-2006.

Clemens, a two-time World Series champion, has been no stranger to ESPN telecast in the past year appearing on an alternative broadcast of Sunday Night Baseball, better known as KayRod, with Michael Kay and Alex Rodriguez, three separate times.

Who will be joining Clemens in the booth?

Karl Ravech will handle play-by-play duties for the game, while analyst Eduardo Perez and reporter Buster Olney will also join Clemens.

David Cone, who is usually the third man in the booth during Sunday Night telecasts, will be in New York as part of the YES Network when the Yankees open their season against the San Francisco Giants. He will re-join his colleagues on April 2, when the Philadelphia Phillies visit the Texas Rangers.
