If you’re looking for a place to watch all three of Canada’s FIFA men’s World Cup group stage games, Rivers FC – Kamloops’ semi pro League 1 BC team – is organizing a series of watch parties at Local Public Eatery.
Organizer Victor Lizzi is encouraging Kamloopsians to come out for lunch with tomorrow’s kickoff against Belgium set for 11 am
“Wear red, bring your scarves, bring your Go Canada Go and just be big fans of the game,” he said. “It is about getting together and cheering on the team. If you can’t go there [to Qatar]this is the next best thing to be together and support Canada.”
Lizzi says there will be special breakfast buffets offered for the games against Croatia on Sunday and Morocco next Thursday.
“For Wednesday’s game, I’d say arrive about half an hour to 15 minutes before,” Lizzi added. “I’ve been told the doors will be opened 15 minutes before the early games. We’re offering a breakfast buffet on those days.”
“It is more [for us] to be together and to cheer on the boys and hopefully on Dec. 1, we’ll be qualified into the next round and then the real fun begins.”
A reminder as well that Radio NL will be joined by former Major League Soccer and Canadian Premier League coach, Alan Koch, to break down the action at the World Cup.
