Rio Mesa graduate Colborn wins Oxnard City golf title for second straight year

Rio Mesa High graduate Evan Colborn won the Championship Flight of the Oxnard City Golf Championships for the second straight year.

Colborn shot a 70 in the first round on the Vineyard Course at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard on May 20 and then fired a 68 in the final round on the Victoria Lakes Course on May 21 to win the title by six shots.

Jason Payne finished second with a 144, Ruben Carmona and David Tuyo tied for third at 145, and Drew Miller and Michael Gaven tied for fifth at 146.

In the Net A Flight, Scott Morton shot a 138 to win the title by five shots. Dave Medina was second with a 143, Scott Zeller finished third with a 148 and Vincent Gomez was fifth with a 149.

In the Net B Flight, Donovan Koah fired a 130 to win the title by 15 shots. Ed Trask finished second with a 145 and Brett Fox and Roderick Tolentino tied for third with a 147.

In the Senior Gross tournament, David Garbe shot a two-round 150 to win the title. Ryan Paul finished second with a 151, Shane O’Neil and Pat Musgrove tied for third with a 152, John McCarthy was fifth with a 154, and Brad Kane took sixth with a 156.
