Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List includes five from Tech

MOBILE, Ala. – Five Red Raiders were revealed as part of the 10th Annual Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List, the organization announced on Wednesday. The Reese’s Senior Bowl is widely regarded as the preeminent college football all-star game and the first stage in the NFL Draft process, and its scouting team has identified its initial group of eligible 2023 NFL Draft prospects.

The five from Texas Tech are as follows (in alphabetical order): DB Adrian FryeDB Reggie Pearson Jr.QB Tyler ShoughRB SaRodorick Thompson and OLB Tyree Wilson.

The list unveiled on Wednesday includes all players who are 2018 high school graduates or true four-year players (with five or more games played in three previous seasons). The list does not include many true or redshirt juniors who could become eligible as December 2022 (or earlier) graduates.

All five from the Texas Tech contingent own a wealth of experience, totaling a combined 76 starts for the Red Raiders in their respective careers, and were each impact players in 2021.

Former Red Raiders who have participated in the annual game and moved forward into the professional ranks include OL Jack Anderson (2020), LB Jordyn Brooks (2019), OL Terence Steele (2019), Broderick Washington Jr. (OL), RB DeAndre Washington (2015) and OL Le’Raven Clark (2015).

Last February, 120 prospects were split between the American and National rosters. The Reese’s Senior Bowl had 106 players selected (out of 262 total drafted) in the 2022 NFL Draft, which represented 82 percent of all players who participated in Mobile and 40 percent of the entire class.
