Rebellious Son Will Compelled Annika Sorenstam to Stop Giving Him Golf Advice, the LPGA Legend Revealed in a 2021 Interview

When one enters parenthood, they often complain that their kids don’t listen to them. And the legendary female golfer, Annika Sorenstam, was no different from other mothers.

Undoubtedly, the golfer has that complaint, but their mother-son bond is beautiful. Sorenstam walked away from professional golf in 2008. However, after 13 years, she returned to the 2021 US Senior Women’s Open. And her son’s reaction overwhelmed her. When Sorenstam won on the 18th hole, it was the most significant moment of the competition. Her son was with her, and when his mother won, he started crying, which touched her heart and ours too.

In February 2021, Graham Bensinger toured the lakefront property owned by the golfing legend in Orlando, Florida. He received some much-needed golf advice from Sorenstam and her son Will from her tee box. However, she also revealed her lessons as a mother.

The video started with Sorenstam explaining where they were and what they were doing. She further introduced her eleven-year-old son William McGee and her daughter Rose was nine. The GOAT golfer is a right-handed player; however, her son was somehow left-handed, which she couldn’t comprehend. After this, she shared what she has learned over the past few years playing golf with her son. According to the greatest golfer, her son was a “golf nut,” and he loved sports.

However, she revealed that Will did not listen to her golf instructions. Sorenstam said, “I have learned that the more I say, the less he listens.” Bensinger asked if this was true, to which she replied, “yes, so I don’t say a lot.” Probably, Will wanted to listen to his short-time golf trainer Lee Trevino. Where he learned a trick from the retired golfer to win every golf bet he ever made. However, Sorenstam’s words made her guest curious. Therefore, he asked Will if any advice from her mother had ever helped Will. The adorable kid said she helped him with his grips.

The little golf nut explained and said, “I used to just have it straight like this and have a big gap here. I’ve now closed it in a little more, and I think it’s been helping me a lot more.” Bensinger became curious and asked the kid if he had to play surrounded by cameras how he would feel. Will replied, “it’s more intense than usual.” It is safe to say a serious golfer is in the making, and the secret ingredient will be Sorenstam’s training.
