Preparing future golf stars for tour, the McKenna Golf Performance Academy held its first open day at Umhlali Country Club (UCC) on Saturday.
Drawing prospective pupils from the North Coast and beyond, the academy offers both golf tutelage and IEB schooling from Grade 7 to matric.
The open day was a way for families to get a feel for what is on offer.
With coaches on hand to give instruction, the visitors got a taste of what could be a daily occurrence for their kids who hope to take their golf game to a professional standard.
There were also information sessions on the schooling, which is done in partnership with Evolve, an online ADvTech school and Africa’s largest education provider.
Aside from full-time pupils, the academy’s three coaches offer professional quality coaching, either on the range or with players on the course.
