Rare Photo of Soccer Icon Pele With Anderson Silva Moves UFC Legend’s Daughter

Footballing legend Pele has a special place in the hearts of football fans and especially Brazilians. MMA superstars from the South American country had shown their heartfelt love for him when the three-time world cup winner passed away in December last year.

Now, the daughter of MMA legend Anderson Silva, refreshed the memory of fans once again as she shared a rare snap of her father with Pele in what could be a decade-old photo. Since football and mixed martial arts are two of the biggest sports in the country, it was not surprising that the two legends had met earlier. In this case, they took the snap when the duo met for a commercial shoot.

Silva’s daughter Kaory Silva shared the snap posted by MMA Lockerroom, to commemorate a month of the legend’s passing. While sharing the image, she also added two heart emojis as a way of showing her love.

As per reports on the internet, the particular image was taken in 2013 while they were shooting for a commercial. Although there is not much news regarding the meeting, the advertisement is still available on YouTube. The advertisement explored a fun idea, with both legends being thrust into the other’s sport. At one point, the Portuguese commercial pans to a shot where Pele slaps the MMA legend, waking up the former and knocking his opponent out.

The image shared by Kaory Silva was reportedly taken on the day of the shooting at Botafogo’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. Interestingly, it is not rare that Brazilian soccer stars and MMA fighters collaborate. For instance, former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has also been a part of charity soccer matches alongside soccer stars Neymar.

Even Anderson Silva’s son too had commemorated Pele’s death, showing the family’s affection towards the legend. Kalyl Silva, just like his sister, shared a story on his Instagram handle to mourn the legend’s demise. Considering the relationship that their father had with Pele, it is not surprising that they must have been heartbroken.
