A few days ago, we reported that Intel is allegedly preparing up to four Raptor Lake-H mobile CPUs and is planning to release the processors by the end of the year. The chips could include the Core i9-13900HK, the Core i7-13700H, the Core i7-13620H, and the Core i5-13420H. Out of the four, the Core i9-13900HK and the Core i7-13700H have appeared on Geekbench once before, giving us a good idea about the possible performance of the processors.
The Core i9-13900HK has now paid another visit to Geekbench resulting in valid single and multi-core benchmark results with 1,780 and 12,148 points respectively. The information comes to us courtesy of BenchLeaks. Interestingly, the CPU is featured in the same Samsung 960XFH machine as the previous showing of the chip, but the boost frequency has seen an almost 1,100 MHz increase and clocked in at roughly 5.2 GHz.
Curiously, despite a significant uptick in boost clocks, the Core i9-13900HK posted a 2% decrease in the single-core score. The multi-core result, on the other hand, saw a 3% bump. It is reasonable to presume that these minor deviations in benchmark outcomes could be due to other factors like memory speeds, etc.
Core i9-13900HK vs Core i9-12900HK
Comparing the Geekbench 5.4 score of the Core i9-13900HK to the Alder Lake Core i9-12900HK, we can see that the Raptor Lake chip is, on average, 7% faster in single-core tests. The multi-core delta between the two processors is practically non-existent with the 13th gen CPU slightly edging out the 12th gen part by 2%. These comparisons are based on our testing of the Core i9-12900HK.
Core i9-13900HK vs Ryzen 9 6900HX
The Core i9-13900HK fares quite better against AMD’s flagship mobile chip, the Ryzen 9 6900HX. Intel’s champion is, on average, 13% faster in single-core and 22% ahead in multi-core Geekbench 5.4 tests than AMD’s offering.
Since the Core i9-13900HK is an unannounced chip, take the Geekbench listings with some caution. The final performance of the CPU may be higher/lower than what’s shown here.
