The Rio Rancho High School boys soccer team opens the 2022 season Friday at 5 pm in a home game against visiting Centennial High School of Las Cruces.
The Rams are home again Saturday morning at 11 to face Mayfield.
Coach John Shepard (257-137-10) begins his 21st season on the sideline, hoping to get the Rams deeper into the postseason than last fall, when they dropped a 1-0 heartbreaker at home to district foe Atrisco Heritage Academy in the quarterfinals. . RRHS was 15-6 overall last season, and 6-2 in District 1-5A contests.
