Well, this isn’t a story I thought I would be writing before the season. The Raiders are 0-3. And now they are the *only* team in the NFL without a win.
Coming into this weekend, there were six teams without a win — the Panthers, Colts, Bengals, Titans, Raiders, and Falcons.
All of those teams won today…except the Raiders.
The Raiders have lost in a myriad of different ways this season. But mostly, you could just split their games into halves.
The started poorly against the Chargers in the opener and although the defense stiffened in the second half, it wasn’t enough to come back.
Then they jumped out to a 20-0 lead over the Cardinals only to have the tables completely turned in the second half and lose 29-23 in overtime.
Against the Titans today, they were down 24-10 at the half and although they held the Titans without a score in the second half, they weren’t able to complete the comeback, losing on a failed two-point conversion attempt — something the The Cardinals converted twice against them in the second half in week two.
For these reasons, we’ve heard numerous times that the Raiders haven’t been able to play four quarters. Technically, they haven’t played more than two quarters in any game. And the opposing team’s two quarters outmatched them.
From here, the countdown begins to see how long until the Raiders can remove themselves from the ranks of the winless. A class they do not occupy all by themselves.
Up next are two tough division matchups with the Broncos and Chiefs.
