Qatar-British Business Forum organizes ‘Golf Day’ to round off the year

  • by

Doha: Following the resounding success of its first ever golf tournament held on March 15, 2022, the Qatar British Business Forum (QBBF) recently organized another “Golf Day,” the last QBBF event of 2022, just before the World Cup, at the Doha Golf Club.

The event marked the end of a hectic year that included more than two events per month.

A total of 48 members participated in the tournament, which could be easily spotted thanks to a colorful QBBF T-shirt designed by Kat Milano, QBBF marketing manager, just for the occasion.

Additionally, there was a golf coaching session for 25 learners and improvers, where Doha Golf Club coach Chris Nicholls and David Moreland, a British PGA member, guided them through the basics of the sport, including the driving range and the putting green.

Gulf Contracting Company (GCC) and Deloitte, the sponsors, provided the golfers with T-shirts, trophies, and medals.

QBBF’s Vice-Chairwoman Carly-Jane Figgis thanked the sponsors and appreciated the organizers for putting together a wonderful event.

“We are proud to sponsor QBBF as they were able to organize another fantastic event. I was
delighted to see so many people take part,” said Laky Chhina, Deloitte Head of Financial Advisory, Qatar and QBBF Honorary Member.

Andrew Humphries of Katara Hospitality won first place, followed by Paul Kennedy of David Adamson & Partners Overseas, with an additional award given to Michael Morris of Deloitte as the rising star from the learners group.

This year, QBBF celebrated its 30th anniversary in Qatar.

With over 320 members, the Qatar British Business Forum arguably has the largest membership among the business councils and business groups in Qatar, the list of which is published annually in the QBBF’s directory.
