Soccer fans will be excited to watch a professional team in action in Moncton on Saturday as Sunderland AFC-under 23 faces the New Brunswick All-Stars at Medavie Blue Cross Stadium.
Soccer NB executive director Younas Bouida said it’s an honor to have the English football club here.
“I’m sure it will have an amazing impact on our grassroots and our soccer community and clubs.”
The New Brunswick team will be made up of players from three universities – Universite de Moncton, University of New Brunswick and Mount Allison.
“These two games (July 30 and August 5) will provide an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful game at a level like we saw in the World Cup in Moncton in 2015,” noted Bouida.
Next Friday, August 5, Sunderland AFC-under 23 will play a match against the CF Montreal-under 23 team.
Both matches will start at 6 pm and tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
The City of Moncton has released information on parking and notes how parking on the Universite de Moncton campus will be free starting at 4 pm on a first come, first served basis and parking on the side of any university road is prohibited.
