PT evaluated system performance using eight benchmarks. The devices PT tested had comparable specifications aside from their processors. Both AMD Ryzen processor-powered laptops delivered comparable or higher performance compared to their Intel Core processor-powered competitors in a series of tests.
In the Geekbench 5 Pro CPU benchmark, which measures a system’s ability to handle tasks such as gaming and video editing, the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5875U processor-powered laptop achieved a multi-core score 51.3 percent higher than the Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor – powered laptops. The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5875U processor-powered laptop also maintained a cooler underside during use, potentially making the user experience more comfortable.
The report featuring the AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 5675U processor-powered HP EliteBook 645 G9 stated that this laptop “achieved a PassMark PerformanceTest 10 score 48.3 percent higher than the Intel Core i5-1145G7 processor-powered Dell Latitude 5420.”
In addition to their strong performance, the laptops powered by the AMD Ryzen processors were more affordable than the Intel Core processor-powered laptops to which PT compared them. After discounts, PT purchased the HP EliteBook 655 G9 for 11% less than its competitor, and the HP EliteBook 645 G9 for 13% less.
