CF Montréal announced Friday that Soccer Pointe-Claire will become its newest partner club in its Scouting and Development Center.

Pointe-Claire is the second amateur club from the Lake St. Louis regional soccer association to become a partner club of CF Montréal over the past year. In April 2022, Montreal’s professional MLS club joined forces with the Lakeshore Soccer Club, the largest amateur soccer club in the region.

Launched in 2019, CF Montréal’s Scouting and Development Center is a high-performance development and identification program developed by the club’s academy and its educators. The initiative is part of a broader effort to share the Academy’s knowledge, training and methodologies with the Quebec soccer community.
The club revised its Scouting and Development program in 2021 in an effort to establish “a more sustained collaboration plan with its partners.”

“This new consultative partnership formula allows participating clubs like Soccer Pointe-Claire to take full advantage of the club’s resources, both at the technical and administrative levels, including weekly on-site visits,” CF Montréal stated in a release. “Partner clubs also have exclusive access to CF Montréal activities and initiatives such as tournaments, camps, and technical competitions.”
Soccer Pointe-Claire president Jonathan Markiewicz said partnering with CF Montréal will benefit its coaches and players.
“Exciting times lie ahead. “Soccer Pointe-Claire’s partnership with CF Montréal will instill a sense of pride and excitement in our members,” he said.
“Members of all ages will feel the community spirit of this initiative, while player development on the field and coaching education will benefit greatly,” added Markiewicz.
