PITTSBURGH — The Pitt Panthers suffered an embarrassing loss to the 1-3 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets this week in a loss that shook a team that had confidence it could replicate its 2021 success.
But instead, the Panthers sit at 2-3, fresh off a loss to one of the worst teams in the Power 5 and have been dropped from both the AP Poll top-25. Pitt had clung to the No. 24 spot it dropped to after losing to Tennessee by winning handily against Western Michigan and Rhode Island.
This is the first time in 11 weeks that the Panthers have not been ranked. They had been ranked in 13 of the last 14 AP Polls. They did not receive any votes from any voters either.
