Phoenix Suns should fire Monty Williams after losing to Denver Nuggets, NBA Twitter says

Social media called for the Phoenix Suns to fire coach Monty Williams after the team’s disappointing 125-100 loss to the Denver Nuggets in Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals at the Footprint Center in Phoenix on Thursday night.

It was Phoenix’s second straight embarrassing loss in a playoff elimination game after getting routed by the Dallas Mavericks in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals last season.

Phoenix lost the series to the Nuggets, 4-2 after entering the postseason with NBA title aspirations. The Nuggets routed the Suns in Games 6 and 7 of the series after Phoenix had tied the series with wins in Game 3 and 4.

NBA Twitter pulled no punches in its criticism of Williams’ coaching job Thursday, calling for Williams’ dismissal as the coach of the Suns.
