Philips R6 Slim robot vacuum and mop arrives with self-cleaning docking station

The Philips R6 Slim robot vacuum cleaner is now available in China. The vacuum has up to 2,700 Pa suction power and a 0.4 L onboard dustbin, with various brushes to help lift and trap dirt. The gadget can also mop your floors, rotating the dual mop heads up to 120 times per minute and delivering 6 N of force.

Thanks to ultrasound technology, the R6 Slim can detect carpets and lift the mops so as not to wet the fibres. The gadget comes with a docking station which can clean the mop to extend its life. The base contains a 4.5 L (~152 fl. oz) fresh water tank and a 5.5 L (~186 fl. oz) dirty water tank, automatically replenishing the onboard tank for a hands-free cleaning experience. 360° LDS LiDAR provides precise navigation and helps the vacuum cleaner to avoid obstacles with an 8 m (~26 ft) detection range. Plus, you can control the gadget via the Philips smart home app.

The robot is only 100 mm (~3.9-in) tall, with a 340 mm (~13.4-in) diameter, and the dock measures 373 x 400 x 455 mm (~14.7 x 15.7 x 17.9-in). You can currently buy the Philips R6 Slim robot vacuum cleaner in China for the discounted price of 3,599 yuan (~US$531); the gadget typically retails for 4,999 yuan (~US$738). It is unclear whether or when the device could be available in other markets.
