The center celebrated its grand reopening in April following a refurbishment after it was taken over by new owners.

Throughout the year, it has seen plenty of success, and most recently held its first boot sale which was a big hit with the community.

On Sunday, Petersfield ran its latest car event, with hundreds of classic car lovers turning up to enjoy the day’s events.

He said: “It was well visited and we had lots of good cars here.

“It was the biggest collection of TVRs ever in Essex in one go as there were 44 TVRs. The car owners told me the biggest before was 15.

“The public response was also really nice, lots of comments on how nice the venue is and everyone enjoyed it.

“We always wanted to hold a car event and are hoping to do two more next year.”

Mr Potter also spoke of the success he has had throughout the year running the village since its refurbishment.

He said: “The whole reopening and running it is going far better than we anticipated in terms of numbers.

“We notice when we have an event it gets busy but the weekends are typically very busy, and generally every day we are well attended.

“When we took over here, I am pretty sure if it had four cars in the car park it would be considered busy, now it is full most days, which has been great to see.”
