IF you can’t get to Poland this weekend to watch Taunton’s premier boxer in action, don’t worry.
You can still catch Pawel August’s latest fight live in the county town’s All Stars Sports Bar in East Street on Saturday evening.
The bout against hard-hitting German southpaw Aro Schwartz is being screened so his Taunton supporters don’t miss out.
The live coverage of the fight in Pawel’s native Poland starts at 7.30pm.
Schwartz represents unbeaten light heavyweight Pawel’s toughest fight to date, but the former Castle School student can’t wait to get into the ring again.
A national broadcaster in Poland has picked up the rights to the showdown.
Earlier this week, Pawel, 27, told the County Gazette: “The fight is going to be televised, so it gives you more of a buzz. It’s exciting. I’m ready to put on an explosive performance. The bigger the fight, the more confidence I have, the more I want to entertain and showcase my potential.”
Pawel took up boxing as a youngster at Taunton and Hamilton Green ABC and has ambitions of breaking into the world rankings and defending his WBC international title. Coming through Saturday night will be another step towards fulfilling his promise.
He added: “100 percent I’m winning this fight – and then the only way is up.”
