THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track and field’s assistant coach, Nat Page, has been nominated as an inductee to the Chicago Sports Hall of Fame, Class of 2022 and will be inducted in Chicagoland’s 25th annual ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
The Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame pays tribute to the sports legends whose careers have thrilled, entertained and enriched our lives with unforgettable moments of greatness. As a member of the Class of 2022, Page will join several other professional and Olympic legends.
Page joined the Tech staff in 1996 and is responsible for coaching jumps events as well as the men’s and women’s hurdles event. His training of the student-athletes at Tech has brought them success individually and to the institute. Page has guided track & field student-athletes to approximately 45 ACC titles, 44 All-American performances and four national titles.
One of Page’s former Tech athletes, Chaunte Howard-Lowe set two American records for the indoor and outdoor high jump.
Page founded Nat’s Athletic Training and Career Experiences in 1993 and has coached nine World Championship team members and five Olympians
As a high jumper, Page was an NCAA Champion at the University of Missouri in 1979 and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999.
Outside of collegiate track and field, Page continued to be a successful athlete. From 1979-81, he was ranked in the top 10 in the world and earned a spot on the US 1980 Olympic team. Following the Olympics, Page was a member of the 1992 US IAAF World Cup team and was a finalist at every US Track and Field Championships from 1985-91.
