NY makes David Robertson, Jose Quintana signings official

Here’s what happened in Mets Land on Thursday, in case you missed it…

– The Mets made the signings of both David Robertson and Jose Quintana official on Friday night.

In a statement released by the team Mets GM Billy Eppler said on the Robertson signing: “We’re very excited to add a pitcher of David’s caliber to our bullpen.”

On bringing in the southpaw Quintana, he said: “Adding another left-handed option to our rotation, especially one with his durability, experience, and moxie, will give our starting staff quality depth.”

Brandon Nimmo was also in New York for his physical, while his deal isn’t official just yet, he told fans on social media he is ‘excited to be back.’

– Additionally, Danny Abriano took a look at what the Nimmo extension means for the Mets in 2023 and beyond.

– Trevor Williams agreed to a two-year deal with the Washington Nationals yesterday. According to SNY’s Andy Martino, the Mets were showing interest in a reunion with the veteran right-hander.

– Execs and scouts discussed potential Mets target Kodai Senga with SNY’s John Harper.
