Nottinghamshire health trust shortlisted in tech awards

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has been shortlisted for an award for how they use a visual technology solution called ‘Isla’ to share patient data between the Trust’s local hospitals.

They have been shortlisted for the Health Tech Newspaper awards for how they use a visual technology solution called ‘Isla’ to share patient data between the Trust and our local hospitals, to support the continuation of care in stroke rehabilitation.

The use of Isla has supported the sharing of relevant information to a patient’s stroke rehabilitation journey.

This has included videos and images shared from ward to community to support timely and effective discharge home.

Keeley Sheldon, Executive Director of Community Services said:

“I am thrilled to see our partnership with Isla recognized at a national level.

“It has proven to be a really important tool to enable us to share information across the healthcare community, to ensure stroke patients are provided with the best possible care in their recovery.

“Well done to all involved, wishing them the best of luck for the next stage.”

“Stroke rehabilitation is a complex patient pathway involving several multi-disciplinary teams, so it is integral to have a secure and reliable mechanism for capturing and sharing data between organizations.

“The ability to review videos provides rich patient context and gives patients the opportunity to contribute directly to their care records.

Frankie Cook, Service Transformation Lead said:

“Our work with Isla has made a significant impact on how community services deliver patient care in partnership with acute care.

“The application of Isla across stroke care has provided us with an opportunity to think differently in how we interact with our acute partners and how we can collectively work together to ensure that the patient journey from the hospital bed to home is seamless.

“As a community provider, Notts Healthcare is proud to be recognized through the HTN as it is testimony to our collaboration with Isla and the wider healthcare community to make a real difference to patient care.”
