There’s never been a so-called “normal” for this beat. When I jumped over from covering the Dallas Stars to the business of hockey, it was in the middle of a pandemic, most buildings were still devoid of fans and constant updates on the financial impact of COVID-19 on the NHL were necessary.
Thankfully, things are starting to find a new normal. The long-term impact of the pandemic will still be felt, and covered in this space, but as far as the day-to-day of digging into the NHL as a business, we can start to have more fun with this beat moving forward . Part of that is connecting with readers and answering your questions on a regular basis through a monthly mailbag.
So we want your questions about the business of hockey and the NHL. Wondering about the current NHL TV situation? Or jersey advertisements, set to make their debut this season? Or the people who own the teams, the sports gambling push or something else? Anything that comes to mind, ask it here. It doesn’t have to be a black-and-white “business question.” In fact, the more fun we can have, the better.
