With NFL regular seasons concluding, postseason berths on the line and teams jockeying for better seeding in the playoffs, we might have had our best weekend of the year regarding fits. When the stakes are this high, everything gets elevated.
I kid you not, there were a ton of options for the NFL Style Rankings as we enter the final stages of the season — and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Some folks decided to go with vintage looks, and others showed off their personality and interests unapologetically. We even had one person make the rankings in slippers.
How, you ask? See below.

10. Josh Reynolds
The Black Eyed Peas dominated the airwaves in the 2000s and 2010s. They would love the Detroit Lions receiver’s outfit because it gives off big “Imma Be” energy. I could’ve said rapper Wiz Khalifa’s ever-popular “Black and Yellow” song, but seeing as that’s very much associated with Pittsburgh and we’re dealing with sports teams, a different link was needed.
9. Marco Wilson
If the casting director for “The Cheetah Girls” wanted to do a male version of the movie, the Arizona Cardinals defensive back should get a call. The outfit screams early 2000s with the baggy jeans and Dr. Martens boots. Then there’s the cheetah print on The North Face puffer, which makes the initial connection easy to see if you saw the Disney film back in the day. But if I’m being honest, I’m really feeling the hat with this ensemble.
8. Quandre Diggs
The always-exceptional Seattle Seahawks social media team deserves a raise. I love a little play on words. This is top-tier work, as the team’s top defensive back sports a “Detroit Lines” T-shirt. It only works as beautifully as it does because Seattle needed help from the Detroit Lions to get into the playoffs. I don’t know how long you’ve held on to these photos, but your patience has been rewarded.
7. George Kittle
This burgundy satin button-down is immaculate. I’m a huge fan of clothes imitating vintage looks — in this case, the back of the shirt. The San Francisco 49ers tight end makes it exceptionally easy to guess which city he just visited.
6. Jamaal Williams
The Lions running back walked in with an anti-Leaf Village headband from the anime show “Naruto” and the puffer jacket to match. Facing his former team (and with Detroit eliminated from postseason contention), Williams rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns to help the Lions destroy the Green Bay Packers’ playoff hopes in the regular-season finale. And when it was all said and done, Williams took us through a gamut of emotions. My favorite thing about this outfit is how loud and proud Williams shows off his love for anime.
5. Trent Brown
This might be the coziest outfit I’ve seen a player sport. The New England Patriots offensive lineman has his stunning shades on. He put it all together with Ugg slippers, and voila! You have a very pleased Brown. He knows he didn’t miss with this one.
4. Ray-Ray McCloud III
Is this the year men start getting into their jumpsuit bags? If so, I’m here for it. The 49ers receiver takes it a step further with an all-denim duffle — also made from a pair of overalls — to match. Also, peep the beige bucket hat and shoes!
3. Jalen Hurts
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback dressed so nice the past two weeks that I had to show him twice. He was back in the starting lineup after missing two games with a shoulder injury. Physically, he was on the mend, but his outfits haven’t suffered every time he breezed into Lincoln Financial Stadium.
The first picture shows Hurts with Michael Jordan on his T-shirt. If you’re going to wear the GOAT on your shirt, your performance better be of equal value. With Hurts’ return, the Eagles defeated the New York Giants 22-16, captured the NFC East title and earned the top seed in the conference ahead of the playoffs.
In the second picture, we get one exceptionally warm weekend in the winter and everyone is back in summer clothes. Hurts turned heads when he wore a green edition of Will Smith’s famous Bel-Air Academy basketball jersey from “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” The way he wears the hat reminds me of Spike Lee’s character, Mars, from “She’s Gotta Have It.”
2. DeVonta Smith
I’ve spent all season telling you how much I love the Eagles wide receiver’s suits, and shame on me for never shouting out the brand. Brian Alexander Bespoke, a Washington, DC-based custom suit shop, outdid itself with the design of this hat for Smith.
At the top, one can see the six-of-diamonds card, but what the eye can’t see sits under the brim. There, one will find “Slim Reaper” on the top, a “6” to the left, “3s Up” to the right and “A kid from Amite” on the bottom. On the opposite side of the hat, the outline of the state of Louisiana sits with a star on Smith’s hometown.
1. Juan Thornhill
I got lost in the sauce looking at this pink silk swirl suit by Gentleman’s Playbook. The Kansas City Chiefs safety had this suit custom-made with him No. 22 sewn into the lining and his initials on the cuffs of his baby-blue shirt. A nice touch to go with the massive necklace that bears his team number.
As we always say around these parts, when you look good, you play well! Thornhill put the final touches on the regular season with an interception against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday.
