In terms of individual accolades and abilities, few NFL receivers will ever compare to Terrell Owens. Through a Hall of Fame career with five different teams, Owens amassed the third-most receiving yards (15,934) and the third-most receiving touchdowns (153) in league history.
Judging by a recent race on the track against some Fan Controlled Football League receivers — James Harden (not that one) and Andrew Jamiel — it would appear the football legend has still got “it.”
In a stunning glimpse of his continued athleticism, Owens ran an apparently timed 40-yard dash in an absolute stunning 4.38 seconds (!). Oh, and did I mention he’s 48 years old? I hope I can still walk at a moderately high pace, let alone run at all, when I get to that age.
After watching his unbelievable sprint, you’d believe Owens could still strap the pads on and run over helpless pro cornerbacks at the highest level:
My. Goodness. For context, that 4.38 time on the 40-yard dash is actually faster than the time Owens ran at the 1996 NFL Scouting Combine… when he was 23.
There are no other words to describe a man of Owens’ age still holding himself in such impeccable physical shape. Well, except for that whole “return to the NFL thing.” I know Owens has been busy with the Fan Controlled League of late, but there are a lot of receiver-needy teams in the NFL, like the Bears. Just a thought. No pressure.
It’s obvious TO could probably still tell someone to get their popcorn ready on any major football field.
NFL fans were blown away by Owens’ incredibly fast 40-yard dash time
