NFL analyst shares shocking stats about former Steelers WR Chase Claypool

The trade that sent wide receiver Chase Claypool from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Chicago Bears was a huge win for the Steelers. With the news that the Bears might not be happy with Claypool’s ability to stay motivated, it just highlights how much better this trade was for the Steelers.

But what about the numbers? Production can make a team forgive plenty of problems. NFL analyst Warren Sharp shared some numbers that honestly makes things look even worse.

  • Pittsburgh was 2-6 with him

  • Pittsburgh was 7-2 without him

  • Chicago was 0-9 with him

  • Chicago was 3-6 without him

  • Chicago before trading for Claypool: 7.5 YPA

  • Chicago w Claypool on the field: 5.5 YPA

Those numbers are absolutely terrifying. The Steelers traded Claypool to the Bears for a second-round pick that turned out to be the No. 32 overall pick. The Steelers ended up using that pick to select former Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr. Porter has the look of a future superstar making the fact that they got him for a receiver who seems to be no better for the Bears.
