NFL 2022 Week 6 Odds, Betting Data And Insight Including Bills-Chiefs Showdown

The betting lines are moving as kickoff approaches for NFL Week 6 on Sunday, Oct. 16. That includes the biggest game of the season so far in Kansas City, where the Bills battle the Chiefs in a redemption rematch from last year’s all-time thriller AFC Playoff game.

The Bills-Chiefs late afternoon kickoff in Kansas City with 2022 MVP odds leaders Josh Allen (+175) and Patrick Mahomes (+400) is preceded by the Ravens-Giants game in New Jersey. MetLife Stadium is where there will be additional electricity on the football field as another leading MVP candidate Lamar Jackson confronts the NFC’s leading rusher Saquon Barkley.

The Colts have scored a league-low 69 points through five games (13.8 PPG).

Contrast that to the Bills (30.4 PPG) and Chiefs (31.8) offensive juggernauts and the two highest-scoring teams, and you can see where fans and bettors will tune in to watch and win on Sunday.

The FanDuel Sportsbook lookahead line on the Bills-Chiefs game was KC -1 prior to last week’s games being played. Now with the Bills blowout of the Steelers and more starters returning to the lineup for Buffalo, the game favorite has flipped to the Bills. The Chiefs close win over the Raiders 30-29 and playing on a short week off MNF is also factored into public perception and the betting line.

The Bills and Chiefs top the NFL power rankings at Pro Football Focus ahead of their Week 6 showdown.

Sports book data shows Buffalo with a slight edge in spread bets and money. But more money has been bet on Over 54 combined points than any other over/under in Week 6 games.

FanDuel Sportsbook player props show passing yards over/under of 296.5 for Patrick Mahomes and 299.5 for Josh Allen.

Here is some added insight, stats and notes on the game provided by Bob Stoll of Dr. Bob Sports.

  • Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes had been favored in his first 41 home starts until this week.
  • Through 5 games, Bills QB Josh Allen leads the NFL in passing with 1,651 yards, 14 TD’s and AFC-best 8.3 yards per pass. Patrick Mahomes has passed for 1,398 yards and a league-high 15 touchdowns.
  • Buffalo’s defense is conceding only 4.8 yards per target to TEs (4th), and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce leads the NFL with 7 TD receptions. Kelce’s 347 receiving yards is tops among tight ends along with the Ravens’ Mark Andrews (349). Bills WR Stefon Diggs is gaining 2.67 yards per route run (4th). His 5 TD receptions are tied with Raiders WR Davante Adams for the most among wide receivers, and Diggs’ 508 receiving yards is the fourth most in the league.
  • Both teams have rookies in the secondary that will be targeted by the All-Pro quarterbacks. But two key defenders for the Bills are ready to return after missing last week’s game – starting S Jordan Poyer (ribs) and LB Tremaine Edmunds (hamstring). Also, TE Dawson Knox (foot/hamstring) and starting slot receiver Isaiah McKenzie (concussion) are also returning to the lineup after both missed last week’s 38-3 blowout win over the Steelers.
  • Buffalo edge defender Von Miller ranks 10th in pass rushing efficiency, and Chiefs LT Orlando Brown has allowed 15 pressures (7th-most). Chiefs DT Chris Jones had four hurries, a quarterback hit and a sack in KC’s thrilling 30-29 Monday Night Football win over the Las Vegas Raiders this past week.

Dr. Bob Sports’ model favors the Bills by only 0.1 points with a predicted total of 52.7 points.
