NBA postpones Detroit-Washington game because the Pistons are stranded in Dallas due to cold weather

BREAKING NEWS: NBA postpones Detroit-Washington game because the Pistons are stranded in Dallas as thousands of flights are delayed due to sub-freezing cold spell in Texas… and other tip-offs are at risk too

Wednesday’s Pistons-Wizards game has been postponed because Detroit’s team remains stuck in Dallas following Monday’s game against the Mavericks due to sub-freezing temperatures that have caused thousands of flight delays across the region.

‘Due to severe weather conditions in the Dallas area, the Pistons have been unable to fly back to Detroit after their game on Monday at the American Airlines Center,’ read the NBA’s statement.

A makeup date has not been announced.

The Pistons were supposed to host visiting Washington at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena at 7pm local time. But even if they could get out of Dallas, their three-hour flight would prevent them from properly preparing for tonight’s game.

Other NBA games could also be affected by the unseasonably cold weather in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The New Orleans Pelicans are scheduled to play in Dallas on Thursday, but remain in Denver after a loss to the Nuggets on Tuesday.
