The Utah Jazz have easily been the most entertaining team in the league this offseason given the way they started blowing up their roster. It started with the trade to send Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves and took another step after months of speculation, as the Jazz health Donovan Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
However, the team still has a lot of veterans it can still move off the roster. The 3 starting-caliber players the Jazz still have are Bojan Bogdanovic, Jordan Clarkson, and Mike Conley. Ramona Shelbourne is reporting that the Jazz expect to fully blow it up in the offseason and that they have trade options open for each player.
“The Jazz now are doing a full reset. I have had conversations around the league and talked to the Jazz and it feels like they have a lot more business to do. Question is, when do they do that business? They still have Bojan Bogdanovic , Jordan Clarkson, Mike Conley. The sense around the league is that the Jazz at least feel that they have deals for all of those veteran players, if and when they want them… The Jazz aren’t in a hurry to get these moves done.”
Possible Landing Spots For The Players
The most obvious destination for the 3 players is the LA Lakers, as the Jazz have asked them for both their 2027 and 2029 first-round picks for a handsome haul of rotational players that give the Lakers more depth and playoff-tested players to put around LeBron James. However, this trade is looking more unlikely by the day.
Outside the Lakers, there are many teams that could use these players individually. The Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks could easily use a player like Bojan Bogdanovic to further add some forward depth to their team while also getting a great scorer next to Jimmy Butler or Luka Doncic. Clarkson could be a flamethrower off the bench for teams like the Toronto Raptors or the Milwaukee Bucks.
Conley could be a reliable guard, but is old and scheduled to make almost $25 million next season, hurting the value at which he can be traded by the Jazz. Either way, the Mavericks, and the Chicago Bulls have been discussed as possible suitors for Conley.
