A “monster.” That’s the word that Jon Krawcyznski used when describing how young Timberwolves Superstar Anthony Edwards looks in summer workouts. A “monster.”
On his popular podcast, The Jon Krawczynski Show, the Timberwolves beat writer the Athletic and fans most trusted source on the team leaned in saying:
“I have had some conversations with Wolves people over the last couple of weeks here now who have been around Ant, who have been in workouts with him and have seen him up close and seen the work he’s putting in on his body, his game, on everything, the reports have been pretty glowing.”
“One person who is really close to Ant just said, Jon just wait until you see him. Just wait. It sounds like he has really dedicated himself in this offseason, going into his third year which is kind of when stars make their leaps. And he’s putting a lot into this. I think he’s starting to understand the difference between working hard, what it is when you’re a rookie and you’re 20 years old and what it is when you’re a veteran and you really want to become an elite player in this league .”
These are exactly the sort of things that a basketball starved community loves to hear about their young superstar. Krawcyznski’s words bring so many Timberwolves fans back to the days of Kevin Garnett and his notorious offseason work ethic. KAT is a superstar and Rudy Gobert is an amazing addition, but for this team to really jump into prominence in the NBA Anthony Edwards is going to have to take a jump into elite level superstardom. Reports like these from Jon are a good step in that direction.
