Being one of the most hyped players to ever enter the NBA is not a burden that every athlete can handle. There are obvious outlines, such as LeBron James. James was amazing from the first day in the league and has only gotten better with time.
On the other hand, New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson has yet to truly show his potential in the NBA. Coming into the NBA as the 2019 first overall pick, fans obviously expected Zion to be a fantastic player.
Unfortunately, Williamson has faced a plethora of injury problems in his short career in the league. In fact, the 22-year-old missed the entire 2021-22 as he was recovering from an injury.
Ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season, there are a lot of expectations from Zion. Many expect him to take a giant leap and obviously stay healthy. Speaking of Zion’s injuries, have you ever wondered what injuries he suffered? Well, the popular Instagram page “Basketball Forever” recently posted a graphic highlighting this very topic.
Upon seeing this graphic, the fans had a divided reaction. While some hoped that Zion would have a comeback season, others simply berated him for not taking proper care of his body.
starks_industries106: Gotta lose some weight! All those lower body injuries are not good!
thekidfromakron96: Nah man.. he’s coming this season 😤😂😂.
imstill_kim: Embiid didn’t even play his FIRST TWO seasons! And was still in the MVP conversation as his career went along. Give this man a break 😒.
masfozz: Burst through shoe is wild. Heavy Boi.
yogirllovethispressure_28: Wow 😮 Zion Gotta take more care of his body if he wanna be around for the long run with New Orleans 💯.
gods2ndfav: Carrying too much weight.
hector_cuts: He’s like Allen Iverson it slows him down but he comes back like nothing happened.
zano_from_ango: And somehow Ja morant wasn’t the unanimous ROY. How can one miss 44 games and still be in a conversation for an award.
bodie_potter: League ain’t ready for him this season… man bouta drop 28 on 62% shooting.
jvillgu: He’s gotta cut weight or do conditioning w bron.
There is no doubt about the talent that Zion possesses. If he can stay healthy, he has the potential to one day become one of the best players in the NBA.
However, as mentioned by several fans, he still needs to get in better shape. Regardless of the talent he possesses, it’ll be useless if he cannot stay healthy for the majority of the regular season and ultimately play in the NBA playoffs.
