MOUNT MORRIS — The Rochester Regional Health Mobile Mammography Center will stop Jan. 12, 2023, at Catholic Charities of Steuben/Livingston, 34 East State St.
The mobile mammography unit will be available from 9 am to 4 pm Those seeking a mammogram must sign up for an appointment time by calling (585) 922-PINK (7465).
In order to keep patients and staff safe, RRH requires that all patients wear a mask or face covering to their screening. All support persons will be required to stay in their vehicle.
The 42-foot-long Mobile Center offers two private dressing rooms and provides 3-D mammography screenings from certified technologists and evaluation of results by board-certified radiologists. The center has the same state-of-the-art technology and certified mammography technologists that would be found at any of its breast imaging centers.
The center works with everyone, including those without insurance. Women must be at least 40 years of age, not exhibiting symptoms of breast-related problems, and have had a mammogram a year and one day from the screening event.
When women enter the center, there are two spa-like dressing rooms on each side. Women are given robes, and called into the screening room from their dressing room. When done with the screening — which typically takes 15 minutes or less — women return to their room and the next patient is able to enter from the other dressing room.
