A four-day mobile filmmaking workshop jointly organized by the Dhaka International Film Festival and Science Film Festival ended on Saturday.
The workshop was held on December 23, 24, 30, and 31 on the permanent campus of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and the Goethe Institute Bangladesh was a subsidiary institution of the workshop, said a press release on Sunday.
Apart from film production materials, the free workshop also includes transportation and food for trainees and teacher representatives.
The workshop was attended by 20 students from the JAAGO Foundation, Rayer Bazar School and KK Foundation studying in classes VI to XII.
After hands-on training, students produced films on the theme ‘Equal Rights in Science’ at this girls-only event.
Four films produced by the students were premiered on the last day.
Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival advisor Mohammad Shazzad Hossain and instructor Zahid Gogon were present at the premiere.
Syeda Sadia Mehjabin, DIMFF’s adviser, gave a vote of thanks at the end of the four-day workshop.
After the main program, a cultural segment was held by the school students. The social affairs team of DIMFF organized the workshop.
The 9th edition of the Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival 2023 is going to be held on March 3 and 4, 2023.
DIMFF is a unique platform to showcase the creativity of young filmmakers.
Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival started its journey in 2015 with the motto ‘New Generation, New Technology, and New Communication’.
This event is to encourage filmmaking through mobile phones.
