Mobile billboard deployed for missing woman

APOPKA, Fla.– This month marks one year since a woman from Apopka went missing. Paola Miranda Rosa was last seen on December 18, 2021 in Wekiwa Springs State Park as she was swimming near Otter Camp. Now, her family is enlisting the help of a mobile truck billboard to try and bring her home.

What You Need To Know

  • The mobile billboard is making stops in Lake, Seminole, and Orange Counties
  • In 2021, searches with volunteers, drones, underwater cameras, and cadaver dogs did not result in any leads
  • The family hopes that sharing her picture will bring her back home

Moments with family aren’t the same anymore since Paola went missing, and the holidays make everything so much harder.

“This is the season that she loves the most. She’s so giving, she’s the most giving in our family,” said Paola’s sister, Andrea Miranda.

Before she disappeared, Paola bought a pile of Christmas gifts. Her sister Andrea has been stockpiling them for her daughter ever since.

“The whole year, I’ve been slowly giving them to my daughter. And every time I give her one, I’m like, ‘this is from your Aunt Paola.’ And I still have some I’m going to give her this holiday season,” said Miranda.

Ahead of the one-year anniversary of her disappearance, the Miranda family is bringing a mobile billboard across Central Florida.

“I have this feeling that it’s going to be somebody who’s out and about and they’re just going to see her face, and be like: ‘That’s the girl we’ve been looking for,'” said Miranda.

Family says Paola was smart, well-spoken, and kind. They hope that while you are with your own family this month, you will spread the word about her.

“If you can share her picture with your loved one this holiday season, it would help us, and you would be helping a family in need right now,” said Miranda.
