MLB should be embarrassed by the awful ump in the Yankees-Cardinals game

Major League baseball continues to have a huge issue with umpires being very bad at their jobs and that issue was on full display yet again Sunday in St. Louis where one of the worst umps in the league had one of the worst days you’ll ever see by one of the guys in blue.

The ump’s name is Ed Hickox and he’s no stranger to being ridiculed for being bad at his job. Earlier this season he had one of the worst calls you’ll ever see when he called a pitch a ball even though it was clearly right down the middle of the plate.

Last season he made an awful call in the ninth inning that led to the Giants winning a key game over the Dodgers.

Yesterday in St. Louis he didn’t make just one bad call. He made a tone of bad calls. Seriously, he missed 20 calls in the first six innings.

That’s a lot of missed calls! Especially by a professional working behind the plate in a game between two very good teams. And that one pitch missed outside by over four inches.

Four inches!

That just can’t happen. Can. Note. Happened.

What also can’t happen is Ed Hickox working any playoff games this year because he has shown time and again that he’s just not good enough to be there.

These umps need to be held accountable for being bad at their jobs. Instead, they get to go on with their lives like nothing happened.

Let’s just hope no postseason games are decided by this nonsense. If that happens, MLB will have nobody to blame but themselves.

Quick hits: Red Sox CF had to be restrained… MLB fans disgusted by Pete Rose… NFL stadiums ranked… And more.

– Boston’s Jarren Duran had a tough inning in the field yesterday and had to be restrained by a teammate after having some words with fans during what was just a wild meltdown.

– MLB fans were rightfully disgusted by Pete Rose’s misogynistic response to a woman Phillies reporter.

– We ranked all 30 NFL stadiums from worst (FedEx Field) to best.

– Mets DH Daniel Vogelbach scored all the way from first and had MLB fans in awe of his gracefulness.
