Winter is coming. So is the MLB hot stove.
With the Houston Astros one way away from their second World Series title in franchise history, baseball’s offseason is on deck. And what an offseason it will be, with likely American League MVP Aaron Judge and two-time Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom heading the list of free agents.
With that in mind, The New York Post’s Jon Heyman identified the top players on the market and the teams who could be interested. He also talked to an “outside expert” to predict contract terms.

Here’s what Heyman is thinking for the New York Yankees and New York Mets.
1. Aaron Judge
Teams: Yankees, Giants, Dodgers.
Contract: 9 years, $330 million.
NOTE: Rejected 7-year, $213.5 million contract before Opening Day.
2. Jacob deGrom
Teams: Rangers, Mets, Dodgers.
Contract: 3 years, $125 million.
NOTE: Expected to opt out of contract despite another injury-plagued season.
9. Edwin Diaz
Teams: Mets, Dodgers, Yankees, Cardinals.
Contract: 5 years, $105 million.
NOTE: Expected to become the highest-paid closer in MLB history.
10. Brandon Nimmo

15. Chris Bassitt
