The Kansas City Royals recently relieved president of baseball operations Dayton Moore of his duties.
General manager JJ Picollo was promoted to the position of president of baseball operations.
But Moore’s time in baseball is far from through.
According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the architect of the Royals’ 2015 World Series championship team has been linked to the Texas Rangers.
Rosenthal stated that multiple sources within the industry have found a link between Moore and the Rangers.
It is worth noting that Chris Young, the Rangers general manager, was a pitcher on the Royals’ 2015 World Series team and was there until 2017.
Sources within the industry continue to link former Royals GM Dayton Moore to the Rangers. Texas GM Chris Young finished his pitching career with Moore’s Royals from 2015 to ’17.

Rangers Linked To Moore?
Young’s history with Moore might be what is causing sources to link Moore and the Rangers.
Moore took the Royals to the World Series twice.
Kansas City lost in seven games to the San Francisco Giants in 2014, but came back in 2015 and defeated the New York Mets to pull off their first World Series title since 1985.
So, at the very least, Young has a rapport with Moore and is familiar with his style.
Moore is a well-respected baseball executive who spent 16 years in the Royals organization and transformed the team in the mid-2010s.
So, perhaps the Rangers are attracted to what Moore was able to do with the Royals, rebuilding the farm system and creating a winning culture in Kansas City.
The Rangers finished the season 68-94.
They recently let go of president of baseball operations Jon Daniels, so perhaps Moore could be a candidate to fill that role and shake things up in Texas.
