Alek Manoah is set for a huge weekend when the Toronto Blue Jays take on the Pittsburgh Pirates from September 2-4.

Manoah has been the ace of the Blue Jays this season.

In 24 starts, the young right-hander is 12-6 with a 2.66 ERA.

Manoah pitched collegiately at West Virginia University, and next weekend, West Virginia is going to be well represented in Pittsburgh.

On September 1, the West Virginia football team will be in town to take on the Panthers of Pittsburgh University.

The next day, the West Virginia alum Manoah will make the start for the Blue Jays at PNC Park against the Pirates, which is the closest MLB ballpark to Morgantown.

Manoah’s Homecoming

This is going to be quite the weekend for West Virginia in Pittsburgh, and it’s a homecoming of sorts for Manoah, who pitched at WVU during his college days.

It’s always nice when a player gets a homecoming of sorts.

For Manoah, it comes during a big weekend for his alma mater.

He’ll have a chance to make a start right near where he used to pitch collegiately in the heat of a pennant race.

The atmosphere will be great as Manoah makes his homecoming.

But it’ll be a big weekend out in Pittsburgh for his alma mater.

He’ll at the very least be pitching close to where he went to college, and there’s a good chance he’ll have some friends in the stands at PNC Park on September 2 when he makes his start.

The Blue Jays are hot right now and they’ll turn to Manoah during his homecoming of sorts.

It’s going to be a big weekend in Pittsburgh, and Manoah has a chance to be a part of it.
