Game 3 of the World Series between the Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies may be in jeopardy thanks to the weather.
Rain is expected in the Philadelphia area tonight during Game 3.
This afternoon, MLB officials are set to meet to discuss whether Game 3 can be played tonight or if they’ll ultimately decide to push it back a day.
First pitch is scheduled for 8:03 pm Eastern Time.
The Phillies will have Noah Syndergaard making the start, while the Astros will counter with right-hander Lance McCullers.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported the news of MLB officials meeting in Philadelphia today to discuss whether or not Game 3 will happen tonight.
MLB officials are scheduled to meet with the #Phillies and #Astros at 3:30 ET to provide a weather update to determine whether Game 3 can be played or try to play through the rain that is forecast throughout the evening.

Rain In Forecast For Game 3
Rain has been a factor this postseason on multiple occasions.
Both Games 2 and 5 of the ALDS between the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians were postponed due to rain.
The Phillies themselves have also had to deal with rain several times this postseason, with Game 2 of the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves being delayed a few hours before first pitch and with rain falling during Game 5 of the NLCS.
It seems that baseball is always at the mercy of unpredictable weather.
That has at least been the case this postseason, and it might happen again tonight as well, with rain in the forecast for Game 3.
If Game 3 were postponed, then each of the three games scheduled in Philadelphia would be pushed back a day, with Thursday no longer being a travel day.
The series is tied at a game apiece heading into tonight’s action.
