St. Louis first baseman Paul Goldschmidt is one of McClure’s top picks on Saturday and he is listed at $6,500 on DraftKings and $4,600 on FanDuel. Goldschmidt has been held hitless in three of his last four games, but he is poised to break out of that mini slump on Saturday. He lit up the Cubs for three hits and three runs in one of his recent games against them, hitting a pair of home runs in that Aug. 25 meetings.
Goldschmidt is a heavy favorite to win the National League MVP this season, batting at a .330 clip with 33 homers and 105 RBI. He is a big reason why the Cardinals have gone 26-8 since July 26, taking control of the NL Central. Chicago pitcher Drew Smyly had a strong month of August, but his one loss came against the Cardinals.
McClure’s MLB DFS strategy also includes stacking Goldschmidt with St. Louis third baseman Nolan Arenado ($6,200 on FanDuel, $4,400 on DraftKings).
