As the second half of the 2023 season gets underway, Major League Baseball announced its full schedule for 2024, highlighted by a March 28 Opening Day, three international series and the All-Star Game at Globe Life Field in Texas.
A traditional Opening Day set for March 28 matches 2019 as the earliest in baseball history but the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres will each have played two games by then, starting the season in Seoul, the first regular-season games to ever be played in South Korea.
The March 28 Opening Day features high-profile New York Yankees-Houston Astros and Dodgers-St. Louis Cardinals matchups.
MLB’s 94th All-Star Game will take place July 16 hosted by the Texas Rangers, the team’s first Midsummer Classic since 1995. In the other international games, the Astros and Colorado Rockies meet in Mexico City in late April and the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies head to London in early June.
It will be the second year of baseball’s new balanced schedule, which has fewer divisional games and each team facing the other 29 every season.
The 2024 regular season concludes on Sunday, Sept. 29.
